Are you truly living your best, blessed life?
Just like strong plant roots can break through concrete and building foundations, so too can seasoned believers in Christ. These individuals have invested time in their faith, allowing their spiritual roots to stretch deep into the earth, drawing strength from the living waters found in Jesus. Just as mature plants display extensive root systems, seasoned believers demonstrate a firm foundation in their faith, showcasing strength and resilience.
Consider these scriptures that speak to being rooted in God:
Jeremiah 17:7-8 (ESV) tells us, “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes; for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.”
Psalm 1:3 (ESV) adds, “He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.”
Hebrews 12:15 (ESV) cautions us, “See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God; that no ‘root of bitterness’ springs up and causes trouble, and by it many become defiled.”
Mark 4:17 (ESV) warns, “And they have no root in themselves, but endure for a while; then, when tribulation or persecution arises on account of the word, immediately they fall away.”
So, how deeply are your roots embedded in God? How far do they stretch? Are they strong and thriving, or are they weak and brittle? Can your spiritual roots break through life’s hard surfaces to bring about change?
Discipleship, as outlined in Matthew 28:18-20 (MSG), reminds us that Jesus empowered us, saying, “Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way of life, marking them by baptism in the threefold name: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Then instruct them in the practice of all I have commanded you. I’ll be with you as you do this, day after day after day, right up to the end of the age.”
What drives you in your daily life? Are your thoughts swayed by the ever-changing winds of the world, or are you anchored in God’s will?
2 Timothy 3:1-5 (ESV) tells us, “But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.”
Ephesians 5:11-12 (ESV) also emphasizes, “Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of the things that they do in secret.”
If we stay rooted in God, drawing from the well that never runs dry and continuously feasting on the bread of life, we will grow and flourish. Our roots will reach deep into the things of God, allowing us to experience the miraculous and walk in signs and wonders. This is how we can break new ground and bring about the shifts and changes our world desperately needs. Embrace God’s perfect will for your life and help cultivate transformation across this nation!
