Pray For Jerusalem

A few weeks ago, I heard in my spirit; pray for Jerusalem.  So, I began to incorporate the city of Jerusalem into my prayers.  But I continued to hear, pray for Jerusalem.  I told God I am praying for Jerusalem!  Little did I know that God was pressing me to pray for my household in preparation for the season we were about to be brought into.

Prophetically, Jerusalem means home, family, the neighborhood, your town, your city, your state, your country!

Jesus sent His disciples back to Jerusalem.  Why?  Because He wanted them to minister first to their homes, their families, their friends.  The gospel was to be begin in Jerusalem.  It starts at home family!

Micah 4:2 tells us, “People from many nations will come and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of Jacob’s God. There he will teach us his ways, and we will walk in his paths.” For the LORD’s teaching will go out from Zion; his word will go out from Jerusalem.

We are to bring the Word of God first to our homes.  It is quite difficult to minister to those who knew you “back when”.  The human tendency can be very judgmental, and our pasts are not easily forgotten or may I say forgiven.

But that shouldn’t stop or detour us.  We are to press on in our higher calling.  The souls of our family members are too important to God for us to get hung up on our emotions.  We can’t go to God crying because we ‘feel” rejected.  It’s not about you!

Remember the enemy uses emotions to distort, sway, confuse, and distract us from Gods will.  It is about your obedience!  Let them judge you, let them talk.  I guarantee, if your life has been changed by God, your living will reflect it! Let them see the new you and judge you according to the fruit you bear!  Overtime, their perception of you will change, God will draw them in and give them an attentive ear to hear what the Spirit of the Lord is saying.

How do you minister to a spouse, sibling, parent, or neighbor?  They’re some whose spouse is a believer, but their faith may be unequal.  We all have areas in our lives where we are not complete in the work of the Lord.  We remain “a work in process” until we leave this realm.  But we should be experiencing spiritual growth daily! Let me say that again, “We should be experiencing spiritual growth daily!!!!

We don’t criticize.  We should always minister in love.  What are the fruits of the Spirit?  According to Galatians 5:22 “But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,”

If we are walking in the Spirit and being led by the Spirit of God in all things, in all circumstances we will be led as to how to pray, how to prepare, how to minister.

God was telling me to pray for our household so that we will be strengthened when we enter this next season.  When the Holy Spirit gave me revelation on what He meant by praying for Jerusalem, He then instructed me on how to pray for each member of the family, and what to say when ministering to them.

1 Corinthians 15:1 says, “Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.”

I had to stand and minister, build up, edify, and encourage those in my house.  I could not waiver, God had put in me what I needed to endure not only for myself but to stand in the gap for those in my home.  My God!  Catch this!!!

God is all knowing, He will at times allow us to go through things personally on an individual basis because He is preparing us for what is ahead.  He knows that you are the cornerstone of the church (your home).  The cornerstone must be durable, strong, rooted, grounded.

This is why we can’t complain and cry why me Lord!  It’s not about you!  It’s about your obedience!!  God wants our YES!  YES, I’ll go through!  YES, I’ll endure, YES, I’ll share my testimonies, YES, I’ll pray, YES, I’ll push my plate away and sacrifice this body so that you can have your way in me God!  My God!!

What I had been walking in was not so I can be this supernatural spirit filled prophet boasting in my stuff and my abilities and look what I can do, listen to how well I can pray, check this out!  NO!!  My suffering has never been about me.  It was in preparation for my calling, that I may minister in sincerity of heart because I have the testimonies to back it up!  I have the battle scars…because I have overcome…

I had already been broken and prepared for this season.  I now can hear the voice of the Lord in HD clarity!  I know what to pray, how to pray, when to lay on my face and intercede.  When to speak strength into the atmosphere.  When to speak a word of encouragement.  When to bind and rebuke the attacks of the enemy.  When to release ministering angels!  God is taking us through a season of being solely dependent on Him for provision.

God wants us to know that the provision comes from Him!  The more we battle against recognizing this the more God will strip us of our “abilities” so that we have no choice but to seek Him for provision.  This can be quite a challenge for many!

Psalms 34:18 says, “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”

In order for us to be elevated and faith increased, we have to go through a brokenness.  For this draws us nearer to God.

John 12:24 tells us, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.”

Dying to ourselves is difficult, its painful, and its a process.  But we must die to self in order to bear the fruit of the Spirit!

How do you pray for Jerusalem?  Die to the former you, know that who you are today is not the person that left Jerusalem. Walk in the Spirit, live by the Spirit, and be led by the Spirit!

Allow God to peel those things off of you that need to die before you go home, lest we be drawn back into our former ways.  Go through, endure!

Someone you love may need your strength, someone you love may need your prayers, someone you love may need your leadership!

We claim to love Jerusalem, show your love by seeking the soul above all things!  The spring is bubbling forth, let God do a new thing in your Jerusalem!

Meditation verse – Isaiah 43:19 “Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”

Blessings!!
