Triumph is defined as a great victory or achievement. So we could call this a victorious life as well.
1 John 5:4 tells us, “For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.”
What does it mean to overcome the world? The “things” of the world are mandated by the prince of the air, Satan. He has three types of manipulation tactics, Lust of the eye…these are the things we see with our natural eyes that we desire. We will steal, kill, rob, lie, deceive, cheat to obtain the things the tempter puts in our line of sight.
Second, lust of the flesh….these are the things that draw us into immoral acts through our emotions and physical weaknesses. The enemy uses life experiences, usually the negative ones to pull us into this realm of lust.
For example, over 80 percent of females that were sexually abused as a child become sexually promiscuous, and the other 20 percent develop issues with sex not allowing them to have intimate relations with their spouses due to emotional trauma. Examples of lust of the flesh are sexual immorality, body dibogination (this is cutting or carving of the body), compulsiveness, obsession, lustful attraction, and so on.
Third, is the pride of life! Whew, this one is a doesy! Pride…many horrible things happen because of pride. Failed dreams, failed marriages, failed relationships, wrong choices, missed opportunities. We sometimes use the cliche “Its nothing wrong with taking pride in yourself”
Well let me tell you…pride is sin…pride in any fashion, no matter how you dress it or disguise it…IS Sin! So yes, there is a lot wrong in taking pride in yourself! We must watch the cliches we speak over our children then we wonder why they have so many issues with stubbornness and such. Pride leads to deception, jealously, covetousness…which are all sin!
So, coming back to our scripture, God overcame the world. Which means, God overcame sin! And by faith, you can have a triumphant/victorious life. Glory to God!! If by Jesus, we are over comers because He won the victory for us, that means the fight has already been won. Your life should be triumphant, you should be walking and operating as a victor. Not one that is trying to overcome, or one that will one day be victorious. We are already victorious!
Lets break this down even further….When God made Adam, he was created to have dominion in the realm. Adam was to operate in like Spirit of God, meaning…just as God spoke and everything He spoke came into existence. God said, let there be light and there was light. Adam prior to sin had this same authority. Adam’s provision came by the Word of God. He spoke it and it was. Adam would speak to the field and command corn to come forth and it was and he ate of it. After Adam’s fall, he was now under a curse. What was the curse? He would now have to toil…labor..work for the things he needed. Now he could no longer speak to the ground but had to labor in it. Working in the heat of the day to plant seed, care for the ground and wait for the harvest. When Jesus, aka the second Adam came, He restored our authority, we have been placed back into our intended position of domination in this realm. What does that mean?? We are back in our rightful position of how God designed us to operate here on earth…by the Word of God! Speaking the Word of God by His Spirit which was restored to us when Jesus sacrificed Himself.
Luke 10:19 says, “Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.”
Romans 6:14 says, “For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.”
1 Peter 3:8 says, “For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit,”
2 Corinthians 10:3-4 says, “For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds.”
Colossians 2:14 says, ” By canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross.”
Yes! Jesus nailed it all to the cross! We already have the triumphant life. Its yours to claim!
If I had a million dollar check made out to you but you live in another state. I tell you, come to me to get it and its yours. You tell me, I’m afraid of flying..or I don’t have a way to get there…so you give up and say just give it to someone else. I’ll just stay where I am and rot! Is that logical??? Absolutely not! But that is what so many of us do to God. He has salvation waiting for you and with salvation comes a multitude of promises and blessings but we say…nope I’m comfortable in my mess. Give it to someone else. Or I’m afraid of change…I cant do it…give it to someone else. Or I don’t know how..instead of trying and pressing toward God because I’m lazy and have no self motivation…I’m going to stay in my mess…give it to someone else. My God!! Really???
Isaiah 41:10-13 tells us, “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Behold, all who are incensed against you shall be put to shame and confounded; those who strive against you shall be as nothing and shall perish. You shall seek those who contend with you, but you shall not find them; those who war against you shall be as nothing at all. For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, “Fear not, I am the one who helps you.”
What do we have to fear…God’s Word tells us not to walk in fear. Gods Word tells us not to be dismayed or troubled or tormented in our minds. Why? He is our God! He is our creator! He is our healer! He is our provider! He is our present help in times of trouble! Glory to God! He is our way maker! He is the restorer of the breach! He is the Great I AM!!! Glory to God!!!!
Go to God family! Why oh why do we make God our last resort?? Why are we soooo stubborn!!! Lets go back to the three manipulation tactics of the devil. Lust of the eye, lust of the flesh, and pride of life. That’s why!
Take back your authority in your household! Stop allowing the devil to run amok in your house! Making a fool of you! And the devil is laughing at you! He is pointing his finger laughing hysterically because he knows who you are but you don’t know who you are….its all foolishness!
God gave you authority! Its already yours! Stop being lazy, selfish, stubborn being puppetiered by the enemy. Get mad at the devil, if its righteous indignation that has to push you into Gods arms then let it be so!
God is pressing boldness into His people! Come forth!!!! Its time to shine the light in the enemy’s den and put him on blast.
Do you have a need? Do you feel like your losing the battle? Then I say to you, perform a self check. Who’s side of the battle are you on? Because God’s side already won this battle. If your feeling defeated, maybe your on the wrong side.
Listen, Ive been in a very difficult season for some time now…but I have such a joy and a peace! I professed to God no matter how much harder it gets, I’m standing in Him. Hes brought me too far, I’m too close to coming out in the natural. I’m already walking in my victory in the spirit. Because every battle is the Lords. How could I turn away after Ive seen Gods hand over and over and over again. How could I doubt Him now?? Why would I doubt Gods word now?? I have to see this thing all the way to the end. I have to see Gods plan fulfilled in my life. I have to see the promises. I don’t want to be like Moses, having an intimate relationship with God all my life and get to the end of my journey and miss out on the promises because I moved in disobedience. No way!! How tragic! My life is not a tragedy…your life is not a tragedy!!
Our lives are triumphant!!
Meditation verse – Mark 8:36 “For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul?”
