Psalm 91:1 “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”

What is this secret place?  How do we get there?

Well let me tell you, it cant be found on your phones GPS.  But your spiritual GPS can take you there!  The secret place is where you tap in to the spiritual things of God, it is a place where you can be hidden in God, it is a place where God reveals His heart to you, it is the place where God comforts you, it is the place where God restores you, it is the place where God transforms you.  It is a place that we can only get to by worship!

When you position yourself prostrate before the Lord and worship Him in spirit and in truth….you enter into the Secret Place!

Many of us go to church and enjoy a good service, we look to get encouraged and edified by the praise team and the preacher.  Saying…sure hope the preacher has got a good word today, because I need one!  What??? Really???  We do our little hand clap, say a few amens.  We leave the church feeling a bit better than when we came in but feel that we still missed something.  There is still that emptiness….because you did not enter into the secret place!  You missed it!  We must have our hearts and minds prepared before even arriving to church with the agenda of entering into the Secret Place of God!  Yes, there is a preparation.  It first starts with your morning activities, when you awake you go into worship and prayer….you seek God early!  

We enter into His gates with Thanksgiving….we enter into His courts with Praise!  We go to our meeting place with an expectation of a personal encounter with God!  We go with an expectation of receiving our healing!  We go with an expectation of entering into the Hollies of Hollies!  We go with an expectation to hear the voice of God!  We go with an expectation to witness miracles, signs and wonders!  We go with an expectation to witness the Glory cloud of the Lord penetrating the atmosphere…seeing people healed, delivered, saved!  We go with the expectation of bringing in the Shekinah Glory through our worship and praise!

Psalm 27:5 tells us, “For in the day of trouble He will conceal me in His tabernacle; In the secret place of His tent He will hide me; He will lift me up on a rock.”

The definition of conceal is to hide; withdraw or remove from observation; cover or keep from sight: to keep secret; to prevent or avoid disclosing or divulging.  God will hide us, He will remove us from the observation of the enemy….He will cover us…He will keep us!  He will raise us to a place where we cannot be touched by the attacks of the enemy!

Psalm 31:20 tells us, “You hide them in the secret place of Your presence from the conspiracies of man; You keep them secretly in a shelter from the strife of tongues.”

Lets define secret here, it is something that is kept or meant to be kept unknown or unseen by others.  Remember when Wonder woman had that invisible plane?  She could travel to various places completely undetected.  God can make you undetectable!  When the enemy tries to use people to tarnish your reputation by speaking lies against you, God will close their mouths!  They wont be able to speak anything against you…they will begin to studder..they get tongue tied..the evil report cannot come out from their mouths because God slapped a spiritual muzzle on them!  Glory to God!!

Psalm 37:2 tells us, “You are my hiding place; You preserve me from trouble; You surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah.”

God will keep you out of trouble!  God will remove you from that crowd you use to hang with that was always into some sort of mischief.  He will deliver you from those old ways…those old thoughts…those old desires and renew you in His likeness!  My God!!  Isn’t that a wonderful thing?  All the past junk we were involved in..He will remove us from that environment and give us new desires that are pleasing to His sight.

Psalm 119:114 tells us, “You are my hiding place and my shield; I wait for Your word.”

Now this is one of my favorite scriptures.  When you are in a season of trials, its a wonderful thing to be able to retreat into your hiding place in God where you can be strengthened, encouraged, held, loved by God Almighty.  And in His presence you can be still, rest in His peace, while in your waiting.  It is encouraging that God will wrap Himself around you and comfort you and speak His word to you…enlighten you…direct you…give you clarity in the midst of the storm…focus…and rest!  My God!!  God will give you the answers you need…He will direct your path…He will lead you in the ways of righteousness!

Exodus 33:14 says, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” 

We must get into Gods Presence family!!  We must enter into the Secret Place of God in order to get His best!  He desires to give us His best…He stands at the door knocking, He is waiting for you!  He desires personal intimacy with you…He desires to embrace you…He desires to fill you…He desires to give you a new hope…He desires to heal you.  Many of  us run around daily worn out!  So much on our plates…so many responsibilities…so many commitments…we make these “things”, “people” our priority.  We take long vacations to return home needing a vacation from our vacation!  Were tired!  We want rest!  We go to chiropractors, we go to massage therapists and every other type of therapist to help us relax so we can get to a place of rest.  Save your money and get in Gods Secret Place for your Rest!!!

Meditation verse – Psalm 27:4 “One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple.”
