Last night we experienced some heavy storm activity in our area, due to the high winds the power was in and out. In the predawn hours a couple of our fire detectors went off at the same time. One in our bedroom and the other in the hallway outside of our bedroom. No smoke, no smell of gas. I found something to fan the alarm with and it eventually stopped ringing, my husband disarmed the other detector by disassembling it…lol.
As I went back to bed, I questioned the strange event. I asked God what was I supposed to see in this? There’s always a reason, we know nothing happens by chance. I told God He had my full attention and I heard “Sound the Alarm”. Then I got to thinking about the storm raging outside my bedroom window. I asked God what does this mean?
He said my people have taken their eyes off of me and have become focused on the distractions caused by the various storms going on around them. They have become complacent, finding security in their comfort zones instead of Me. They have been functioning in a sleep-like state, going through the motions but having no power, seeing no change, living in the mundane. I am sounding the alarms, causing them to wake up and come from out of this false security! I am calling my people to come forth and step out!! Come out from the coma of false reality!! I need you to set your sights on Me, the alarm is sounding, look for me and let me lead you into true security which can only be found in me, I bring the provision, only I give you the power to tread on serpents and speak to the winds of the storm. I am sounding the alarm, its time to come forth!!
Ephesians 5:11-16 (MSG) tells us,
“Don’t waste your time on useless work, mere busywork, the barren pursuits of darkness. Expose these things for the sham they are. It’s a scandal when people waste their lives on things they must do in the darkness where no one will see. Rip the cover off those frauds and see how attractive they look in the light of Christ.
Wake up from your sleep,
Climb out of your coffins;
Christ will show you the light!
So watch your step. Use your head. Make the most of every chance you get. These are desperate times!”
We need to be alert. God is commanding awareness. We can no longer drag about, singing the old song I’m just a lowly sinner saved by grace. No, come out from the dry mundane life you’ve been living. No more excuses, no more slumbering!
1 Peter 5:8-11 (MSG) says,
Keep a cool head. Stay alert. The Devil is poised to pounce, and would like nothing better than to catch you napping. Keep your guard up. You’re not the only ones plunged into these hard times. It’s the same with Christians all over the world. So keep a firm grip on the faith. The suffering won’t last forever. It won’t be long before this generous God who has great plans for us in Christ—eternal and glorious plans they are!—will have you put together and on your feet for good. He gets the last word; yes, he does.
Who gets the last word? God does! No need to be fearful, step out in faith. God is your front guard and your rear guard. He knows whats coming and will strengthen you with whats behind you. Can you hear the ringing of the alarm? God is your protection, don’t allow the storms to distract or confuse you, the enemy has been using the storms to frighten you. So that you will stay in your tent of safety. God wants you to speak to the storm and come out from your habitation and move boldly upon the earth using the authority given to you by God Almighty!
Psalm 91:1-16 (MSG) says,
1-13 You who sit down in the High God’s presence, spend the night in Shaddai’s shadow, Say this: “God, you’re my refuge. I trust in you and I’m safe!” That’s right—he rescues you from hidden traps, shields you from deadly hazards. His huge outstretched arms protect you— under them you’re perfectly safe; his arms fend off all harm. Fear nothing—not wild wolves in the night, not flying arrows in the day, Not disease that prowls through the darkness, not disaster that erupts at high noon. Even though others succumb all around, drop like flies right and left, no harm will even graze you.
You’ll stand untouched, watch it all from a distance, watch the wicked turn into corpses. Yes, because God’s your refuge, the High God your very own home, Evil can’t get close to you, harm can’t get through the door.
He ordered his angels to guard you wherever you go. If you stumble, they’ll catch you; their job is to keep you from falling. You’ll walk unharmed among lions and snakes, and kick young lions and serpents from the path.
14-16 “If you’ll hold on to me for dear life,” says God, “I’ll get you out of any trouble. I’ll give you the best of care if you’ll only get to know and trust me. Call me and I’ll answer, be at your side in bad times; I’ll rescue you, then throw you a party. I’ll give you a long life, give you a long drink of salvation!”
The alarm is sounding! Make your declaration today and move on it by faith!
Meditation verse – 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 (ESV)
“Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.”
Blessings!!
