It’s Me Oh Lord, Standing In the Need of Prayer!!

1 Chronicles 16:11 says, “Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually!”

We sometimes find ourselves in a place in our lives where we only have Gods Word.  We cant turn to family, we cant turn to friends, we cant turn to our jobs, there is nowhere to turn, there is nowhere to seek help, there is nowhere to find rest, there is nowhere to find peace.  But there is a place, there is that someone that is limitless, that is gracious, that is loving, that is patient, that holds the universe in the palm of His hand….God!

We must seek God, He is our hiding place, He is our provider, He is our way maker, He just IS!  Everything we need can be found in God, but in order to find something you must seek it first.  There are times in this journey where every door in our lives has been shut, we cant make sense of our situation in our own intellect.  We don’t see our options, we don’t see our choices, we just cant see!  God at times must allow these trials in order to get our total dependency on Him.  We will seek God to handle some things in our life but still resort to I can handle this or that myself.  God desires to have us completely surrendered, completely reliant on Him in all things!  If we are locked in a darkened room and cant rely on our own senses to find a way out we seek Gods presence, we ask Him to show us the way, we ask Him to be the light to our path.  This is the purpose of the trial, remember your trials are to draw you closer to God, to get the things out of you that can hinder and harm you, to transform you completely into a new person found in Christ Jesus.

That’s the purpose friends!  Don’t take your trial and sufferings personally or as an attack.  Seek God, why am I in this situation?  what are you teaching me in this situation?  how can I be obedient in this situation?  Lead me, guide me, I’m surrendered to your Will God!  Tell me to be still and I’ll be still….tell me to go and I’ll go…I desire all of you God and less of me.  Remove the dross from my life!

When metals like gold are taken through the refining process it is heated to the point to extent the impurities in the metal become separated this liquid is called dross.  It contains all the gunk and dirt that has settled into the metal overtime.  Extreme heat is the only thing that can draw it out, once this dross is removed the remaining metal now in its liquid most pure state can be formed and molded for its intended use!  My God!  Catch this family!!  Our trials, these difficult seasons of hardship are like going through the fire.  Our many years of being part of satans system have embedded all types of filth into our lives.  The only way to be cleansed is to be placed into the fire!  My God!!  The all consuming fire of tests and trials was designed to clean us up, not to harm us!!  The fire was made to consume the things that are not of God so that we can be made in His likeness…once all the dross is removed from our lives, the potter can take us in His hands and form us into our intended design for His glory!

When you see gold that has just been refined its like glass, its so clear and shiny, you can see your reflection in it.  God wants to see His reflection in us!

Remember the story of the three Hebrew boys that were placed into the furnace but they were not burned?  In fact, they came out of the furnace completely unscorched!  No smell of smoke, their clothes weren’t even singed or discolored from the smoke.  No soot on their faces, no physical sign of the environment they just came out from.  Wow!  Catch this!  Because God is with you in your fiery furnace, keeping you…. when you come out you will not resemble the hell you just been through…there will be no trace of it on you…you wont look like it and you wont smell like it.  Glory to God!!

The fire was never designed to harm you.  The purpose of the fire is to burn the things off of you that were never originally intended to be part of your DNA.  Because of the fall of Adam, sin became part of our DNA and the only way to be freed from it is to allow God to bring you through the fire!

James 1:12 tells us, “Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.”

God promises to be with us, God promises are for good and not for evil.  It is Gods desire to bless us that we may be fruitful and bless others with the bounty of our riches.

James 1:2-4 tells us, “Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

So in our enduring, being still in the midst of the fire God is having His perfect work done in us.  When we come out we will be complete in Him!  How awesome is that!!

Yes, it is exciting to look forward to Gods promises, we must hold on to what God has promised us, especially while in the furnace!  Dry seasons are difficult, no one wants to be in the fiery furnace but its necessary.  There are times were we must cry out to God!  Its me, its me, its me Oh Lord, Standing in the need of Prayer!!!  Help me to endure!!  Help me to press through!!  I need your Help!  I need your strength!  I don’t want to be in here but I don’t want to come out until you have completed your work in me!  I rejoice in you that you will have your perfect will performed in my life and I will reap the harvest but until that day arrives, my God, I need your help!

Don’t come out of the fiery furnace family.  Let patience have its perfect work in you.  Stand and continue to endure, it will all be worth it!

Meditation verse –  Hebrews 10:36 “For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised.”

Blessings!!
