“Always remember that you are absolutely unique. Just like everyone else.” – Author, Margaret Mead.
1 Peter 2:9 (ESV) “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.”
One morning when my children were still in grade school, we faced a challenge in regard to one of them not eating the lunch I would pack. So, I asked are you eating at school? He hesitated. I asked what are you taking for lunch if you are not eating the items I brought for you? He said, I don’t eat lunch at school…I had to take a step back as I stood in awe. I asked why? He hesitated again and proceeded to tell me that people avoid him at school, no one will sit with him at lunch, they call him bible boy and pick with him, they make fun of how he dresses and is always speaking about Jesus. He said they tell him that he’s different. He really opened up to me about his emotional pain of being treated badly by his peers. Although I related to his pain, I immediately became angered because of the fact he would allow these people to affect him so much to the fact he didn’t feel comfortable eating at school! After I finished laying out threats, I calmed down enough to speak to all the children about how God would want us to handle these types of situations.
We must now how to go to the Word of God in every situation, His Word carries the answer for everything we will come across in this life. This is why we hear most believers refer to the bible as – Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth.
Jeremiah 1:5 says, ““Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
So I explained to them, before they were created in my womb, God foreordained their future! We are Gods design and the Spirit of God resides within us. We are unique, we are called a peculiar people, set apart and different from the world! So yes, I agreed with my son, I told him yes you are different and you should be proud of who God made you. We all at one time or more in our lives have gone through self-identification mostly in our youth or young adult hood. But you sometimes try to fit in or you may try to model someone else because they appear to have everything together. Let me share with you that this is another one of the enemy’s devices to cloud your mind, and bring confusion. You are not a confused individual. The spirit of confusion does not rest upon the believer. God made us each uniquely, and complete.
Ephesians 2:10 tells us, “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”
Yes, we were created for good works! There is greatness in us. I told my son to never allow the judgments of people take that away from him. I told my children that everyone in the world will have an opinion and that’s okay. What matters is what we believe of ourselves, what do we walk in? My friends, have confidence, be bold, walk in the righteousness of Christ Jesus that was so graciously given to us.
Individual attacks can be harsh, but know who you are in God!
Genesis 12:2 says, “And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing.”
Yes, you are blessed and are a blessing to others. It’s okay if they don’t see it. As long as you know it and live a life walking in the authority given to you by God!
John 14:12 says, ““Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father.”
Romans 5:1-5 says “Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we[a] have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith[b] into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.”
Rejoice! Glory in God! God is building your character! Never be ashamed of how God made you!
Declare who you are and whose you are!
Preach the Gospel but most importantly Live the Gospel!
Meditation verse: 1 John 3:1 – See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
Blessings!!
